Classes
Our class portion of the co-op day runs from 12:00 to 1:30 pm. Students are divided into age-grouped classes and are led and assisted by parent volunteers. Class topics, which change quarterly, may include social studies, science, civics, and more.
Pre-K
4-5 Year Olds
Hands-on activities such as story-time, games, art, and music will be interspersed with plenty of free play.
Students should be able to follow basic directions, generally control their hands and words, and express their needs to a leader. Pre-K students must have an older sibling enrolled and be able to use the bathroom independently.
Early Learners
6-7 Year-Olds
In our Early Learners' class, our students will learn big concepts through a variety of hands-on activities and lots of play. Students will have plenty of time to dig deep into the topic of the week or play with open-ended toys, depending on their level of interest.
Elementary
8-9 Year Olds
This class allows students to practice growing their attention spans, learn how to work with a partner, and how to harmonize as a group. This group will learn how to extend their thinking with activities based on the weekly topic.
Intermediate
9-10 Year-Olds
Intermediate class allows students to show their authentic selves, interact respectfully with a partner, and work in a group toward a common goal. Every week there will be a lesson following a theme and students will dig deeper with connected class assignments.
Middle School
11-14 Year Olds
Geared towards interactive projects, middle school class works collaboratively within a group. We strive to create experiences that are difficult to achieve at home whether it is project work, group discussions, or presentations.
High School
8th - 12th Grade
One day a week of credit-worthy High School classes where students will be immersed in rich content and challenged to become critical thinkers. We meet Mondays between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. We offer a lunch period between classes for students to spend time socializing.
